For me, fall always means getting cozy indoors, inviting friends over for comfort food, enjoying wine, and just the pleasure of company. And with my obsession for all things entertaining, I may go a little overboard with the dinner table when we do have guests over. One of my favorite things to get creative with is place cards.
At this point, it's pretty accurate to say that we all have either an Instagram or Facebook account, so I thought we could put it to better use by incorporating it into the decor! Round up a few pics from your friends' accounts and follow the instructions for some super simple, and personalized place cards.
All you will need is card stock, your printer, a ruler or straight edge and x-acto knife.
Grab a picture for each guest and open in an editing program like illustrator or photoshop. Add touches like a border or any graphic elements, and lay out each guest's name over their picture. For mine, I used my tablet to create a script font, but you can just as easily use a regular font and type it out, or print out and add each name by hand with a sharpie.
After you have printed out each picture and added the names, use your ruler to carefully cut around the sides and bottom of each picture, and then double the height above the image. This is where you will fold the card stock (above the image) and create a tent card for placing at each setting.
Fold each card in half and set your table! Enjoy, and happy fall entertaining!
